Kieran & Zane are
Getting Married!

We're getting married and want you to come along!  We couldn't imagine having such an important day without as many of our most important people as possible.  Since everyone is scattered all over the country (and some outside the country) we knew most of you would have to travel regardless of the location we chose.  We also feel strongly that the traditional wedding just does not offer enough time for the happy couple to spend time with people who have traveled so far to take part in the big day.  As a result we decided to pick a destination location and do an extended wedding celebration.  It just so happens that the location moves.

Ceremony

The ceremony will be on board the ms Amsterdam in Seattle on May 29, 2016 promptly at noon.  You do not have to go on the cruise to attend the ceremony as the boat will be in port at the time.  If you have not received a survey asking for your information to board the boat, please reach out to a groom.  This info is needed at least 30 days prior to the wedding!

Which Type of Guest Are You?

We would love to have as many people as possible join us for the week-long cruise.  However we know many of you have other obligations and cannot be away for that much time.  The ceremony will be open both to guests sailing on the cruise as well as non-sailing guests and yes, kids are welcome as well.

Sailing

Sailing guests will board the ship early for the ceremony then continue on for the 7-day Alaska Cruise.  Click here to see all the information about the cruise and sign up including special pricing and promotions available through October 30!

Non-Sailing

Non-sailing guests can board the ship for the ceremony and reception and depart the boat before the 5pm sailing.  Anyone left on board after 5pm has just magically changed from a non-sailing to a sailing guest.

Weekend Overview

The festivities begin over Memorial Day Weekend 2016 in Seattle.  We'll head out to bars Friday night for those of you in town. We will have a laid-back gathering at a Seattle park on Saturday, May 28th, followed by bowling (a favorite Mumford and Smiley activity) later that evening.  On Sunday everyone will board the boat for the ceremony and reception from noon until 2pm.  Non-sailing guests depart by 5pm and then have the remainder of Memorial Day Weekend to enjoy Seattle - we will provide a list of suggested restaurants and activities.  Sailing guests continue on to Alaska for a fun-filled week of eating and merriment.

Seattle Transportation

We strongly recommend taking advantage of Seattle's Light Rail from the Airport to Westlake Center, a short 3 block walk to the Hyatt at Olive 8 and 2 blocks to Hotel Max.  This quick and cost-effective option avoids traffic, and parking in downtown Seattle is extremely expensive.  We will provide buses from the Hyatt to the lunch activity on Saturday and the wedding on Sunday.  For all other activities Ubers are plentiful and downtown Seattle is extremely walkable.

Seattle Hotels

We have selected a host hotel in downtown Seattle, Hyatt at Olive 8.  It is within walking distance of the light rail from the airport..

Gifts

The best gift you can give us is to join us for the cruise!  The second best gift you can give is to join us for our ceremony and fun weekend in Seattle.  We certainly understand that this will not be possible for everyone.  If you cannot join but want to send a gift we would appreciate donations to the following charities in our name.

F.A.Q.

Q: If I'm coming to the wedding what information do I have to provide to the cruise line, and by when?
A: "If you have any quests attending your wedding ceremony, you must notify us no later than thirty (30) days prior to your wedding day. Since we will be boarding you and any guests early, we need a complete guest list no later than thirty (30) days prior to your sailing day. For sailing guests we will need full names and cabin numbers, for non-sailing guests we will require full names, date of birth, citizenship, and either a passport or driver’s license number including expiration date. Birth certificates will be sufficient for children.”

Q: What should I wear to the ceremony?  What are your colors?
A: The grooms are wearing suits but we encourage everyone to be comfortable.  This is a relaxed event, so wear what you want!  We do not have colors.

Q: I want to bring a gift to the wedding, is that okay?
A: No, customs will not allow gifts to be brought onto the boat.

Q: On the boat, what dinner seating do I sign up for if I want to eat with most of the group?
A: The late seating.

Q: Are you guys doing any excursions?
A: We are doing the Helicopter Flightseeing and Glacier Trek at 2:00 pm in Juneau (the 4-hour one, there's also a 3- and 5-hour), then the Magnificent Misty Fjords by Floatplane at 8:00 am in Ketchikan.  Everywhere else we plan to just go with the flow.

Q: I found a cheaper rate for the cruise online - can I book that?
A: Sure!  However, the rates we have published include taxes and fees so be sure you are comparing apples to apples.  Also, anything you find online Dave would be able to secure for you as well so we would encourage you to just show the rate to Dave so he can get you associated with our group and make sure you get all the possible perks.

Q: I found a cheaper rate for the hotel online - can I book that?
A: Sure!  There are also several other great hotels in close walking distance to the Hyatt at Olive 8, feel free to use whatever option works best for you!

Q: I'm not sure if I'm sailing or I am trying to plan rooms/roommates, what should I do?
A: You can always book now and figure out the final details later.  You are able to cancel by March 15, 2016 to get a full refund if you end up not sailing.  We'll be sad and you'll be missed but we understand.
